Roman countryside hills tour

This tour is an opportunity to  immerse yourself in the natural and artistic beauty of the small medieval villages outside Rome called “Castelli Romani” Roman castles because here during the medieval time there used to be several castles belonging to the different noble families, now disappeared.
The itinerary  takes us along the Appian Way and the Via dei Laghi ‘Way of the Lakes’ through one of the hilly areas   of volcanic origin  called Colli Albani with some lakes that characterize the roman countryside.

The first village  that we can admire is Castelgandolfo on its volcanic lake, where the Pope has his summer residence, then Rocca di Papa and Grottaferrata, known for their  gastronomic delicacies which include the traditional  called “porchetta”. Driving to the north part of the Colli Albani, we reach Frascati famous  for its beauty and the considerable wine production famous world wide.  

After a stop in Frascati begin our way back to Rome.
